Team Coaches
Kerry Armstrong - Head Coach, Trainer
I have been big into rec sports for years as I feel it gives kids more flexibility to do other sports. Our club has had some very skilled players at the rec level, who I feel could make just about any comp team they wanted. Due to the typical commitment required of most comp teams, families like mine have opted to keep their kids in rec. To prevent blowouts, we have asked kids to play up, pass the ball x amount of times and then strike with their goofy foot, and at the end of a dominant season we then break these teams up to try and spread the wealth. This leads to some practices spent teaching new players some very basic concepts, and while it has lent itself to leadership opportunities for experienced players, it is also a source of frustration. I think the better answer is to set up a higher level of competition for our kids to play.
Our goal with this white team is to develop and challenge the athletes we are able to draw while trying not to over burden families with an intense schedule. We will be practicing just two days a week. We aim to minimize travel, and to participate on a schedule similar to our clubs rec schedule. Minimalized travel will likely have us heading as far as East Orlando (only so many teams in Brevard) for some games. Of course we can rock some carpools.

Matt McKee - Assistant Coach, Trainer
Matt McKee has been a part of the IYSL since Fall 2019, either as a supporting parent, assistant coach or head coach. He is now a U14 head coach with a lot of talented kids who are looking to go to the next level. Matt is competitive but also believes in equal playing time. As with Coach Armstrong, they are looking to improve a great group of kids on their soccer skills while balancing busy family life-styles.
